Lay Ministry
Ministry to Our Sick and Homebound Members
One of the most compassionate ministries in our congregation is carried out by a dedicated group of lay people who have been prayerfully trained by the Rev. Paul Hagedorn to bring Holy Communion to our sick and homebound members. Through their service, the love and presence of Christ are carried beyond the church walls and into the homes, hospital rooms, and care facilities of those who cannot worship with us in person.
These lay ministers offer more than the sacrament itself. They bring fellowship, prayer, and a reminder that every member of our church family is cherished and remembered. Their visits provide comfort, spiritual nourishment, and a sense of connection for individuals who may be facing illness, isolation, or limited mobility.
Under Rev. Hagedorn’s thoughtful guidance, each lay minister is equipped with the theological grounding, pastoral sensitivity, and practical skills needed to serve with dignity and care. Their ministry reflects the heart of our congregation — a commitment to ensuring that no one is left without access to the grace and strength found in the Eucharist.
This work strengthens the bonds of our community and embodies the call to love one another as Christ loves us. Through these visits, our church extends its worship, its compassion, and its fellowship to those who need it most, reminding them that they remain an essential part of our shared life in faith.
